About Us

The Organization

Many youths in Kenya face the burden of a struggling local economy and face major challenges meeting their essential needs. As a result, most of the time they have resorted to crime and other illegal activities as a means to solve their economic problems. Some have resulted to drug and substance abuse to withstand the challenges they face.

The Gifted Hands Youth Empowerment Organization is a registered non- profit organization that is working with other partners to provide a solution to this problem through robust programs that target to build entrepreneurs among the youth.

Our Story

Gifted Hands was birthed out of the desire and need to improve the lives of many youths in the country struggling to earn a living. The youth, who form the largest portion of the population are struggling with life essentials due to lack of employment or stable and sustainable sources of income.

The team behind Gifted Hands Youth Empowerment Organization, together with a visionary leader, stepped up to be part of the solution. We believe that the youth are smart, savvy, courageous, and fully capable of manifesting success in ways that are meaningful and relevant to them and our community. The organization has created creating a series of entrepreneurship oriented initiatives to help the youth increase their income and build translatable workforce experience.

The Youth4Biz model allows youth to experience entrepreneurship first-hand, process their experience into learning, draw strategic conclusions, and then quickly test their new ideas in another action-based setting.

Our Objective

The objective of the Youth4Biz program is to promote and advance the social and economic prosperity of youths through the study, application and practice of entrepreneurship at the community level in a manner that the youths can easily embrace and connect.

development of the society.

Our Mission

To provide sufficient quality skills and knowledge to the under-privileged youth for them to recognize and use the resources around them for their holistic empowerment and
development.

Meet The Team

Anthony Kiguta

Founder & Chief Executive Officer

Anthony is an innovative, self-driven IT expert with over 7 years of experience in Digital Solutions Design & Implementation. He is a trained Accountant with 8 years of practice at the National Council of Churches of Kenya. He is the Founder and Managing Director of Ziprof Technologies Ltd, an IT firm offering Web and Mobile Solutions, and IT Consulting. At Ziprof, he has helped dozens of startups and SMEs develop effective online business strategies.

Helping others achieve their goals, bring to life their innovation or execute a transformative agenda has been a form of purpose in his life. Anthony is passionate about empowering the youth and is dedicated to blazing the path for the youth to find empowerment through education and entrepreneurship.

As the Gifted Hands Youth Empowerment Organization founder, he leads our team in problem identification, youth empowerment projects mapping, building external relationships and community building. He is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at the secretariat and Secretary to The Board.

Eroll Wekesa

Chairperson

Eroll is a demonstrated leader in Health and Development Programs, with extensive experience in Public Health Programming and Management, Partnership Building, and execution of complex strategies. Until recently, Eroll has been working as the Regional Program Specialist for Africa at American Leprosy Missions where he has been responsible for ensuring that a portfolio of Neglected Tropical Diseases projects in the Africa region are implemented and reported on with excellence.

Eroll serves as the Board Chairman. He leads our team on all policy matters and gives oversight over the Gifted Hands Youth Empowerment Organization. His vast experience in program implementation, leadership insight and swiftness has been instrumental in the actualization of the organization’s vision.

Bernard Ochieng

Vice Chairperson

Bernard is a Business Development Consultant with over 5 Years Experience in Business Advisory, Strategic Business Planning, Legitimization and Training on matters of Entrepreneurship and Business Success. He is passionate about matters of purpose, health, wealth creation and helping people including youths to start, build and grow their businesses.

He is the founder of Global Seven Business Solutions, a consulting firm that is focused on providing support to clients who need to start, build and grow their businesses.

Bernard serves as the Vice-Chairperson to the Board. He is in-charge of the project’s sustainable development. He is also instrumental in mentoring and guiding program participants in Business Planning and Implementation.

Lawrence M Njiru

Treasurer

Lawrence is a Self-driven, creative problem solver, networking advocate and relational based professional with proven success. He has over 15 years’ working experience in Modern Leadership, Capacity Building, Clients Relationships Management, Sales and Marketing and Reporting having worked in a fast-paced innovative technological environment in various roles at Standard Chartered Bank and KCB Bank Kenya Limited.

He is currently a consultant on Middle Small and Micro Enterprises (MSME) Financing Consultancy and Capacity Building.

Lawrence serves as organization’s Board Treasurer. He leads our team on financial Policy formulation, including budgeting and oversees their implementation.

Mary Kihara

Legal Advisory

Mary is an Advocate of The High Court of Kenya, with a specialty in Intellectual Property Rights. She is also a Certified Mediator and the Managing Partner of Kipaji Intellect LLP which seeks to promote, protect and create awareness on Intellectual Property rights. She is a philanthropist and has worked with various Non-Government Organizations promoting human rights and creating awareness on various laws and rights in order to protect human dignity and continues to do so through legal awareness. She is also a Member of the Law Society of Kenya.

She has been a big contributor in the realization of the role of the Youth in decision making through her active participation in the organization of seminars and workshops and training activities for the youth on matters of intellectual property and Financial Literacy. She hopes to ensure that as many young people realize and live up to their fullest potential through mentorship and become financially free.

Mary serves as the Legal Adviser to our team and ensures compliance to the Laws. She is also in charge of Monitoring and Evaluation in an acting capacity.

Dr. Linda Kimencu

Curriculum Development & Oversight

Dr. Linda Kimencu is an Entrepreneurial Educator with over ten years of experience in Higher Education. She is a resident Lecturer at Kenyatta University and also the founder of Learning Gaps Consulting Center, that aims at filling gaps in Education through inculcating entrepreneurial education to learners from a young age, through her Learning Gaps Kidpreneur and ex-candidate Programs.

Dr. Linda is a seasoned Educator with experience at all levels of education. An Author, Researcher, Coach, and Speaker, she believes education is the ultimate key to freedom and uses her educational platforms to transform the lives of young people for more fulfilling lives and livelihoods.

She is a Board Member and leads our team in structuring entrepreneurship trainings and content delivery. She is also in-charge of Curriculum Development for the Youth4Biz Learning Center and oversees its implementation.

Florence Wairimu

Learning Centres Coordinator

Florence Wairimu is a devoted dyslexia tutor with an unwavering passion for youth empowerment through education. Her dedication to nurturing a love for learning has earned her respect within the educational community and beyond. Florence is the founder and director of St. John’s Brighthope, a Primary & Secondary School that empowers students with diverse learning needs to flourish academically and personally.

Through her leadership, countless young minds have been empowered, equipped, and inspired to unleash their full potential, ensuring a brighter and more promising future for generations to come.

Florence serves a board member and the Coordinator for the Youth 4 Biz Learning Centers. She oversees the establishment of the centers and the smooth coordination between them.

Cynthia Muthoni

Finance & Administration

Cynthia is a Community Builder & an Operations Management expert with a background in Finance.
She has over 5 years experience in Hospitality Management Industry specializing in Relationship Development and Growth through great Customer Service. She also has experience in Events Planning and Administration Management.
She’s passionate about bringing people together for either growth or fun and appreciates meticulous organization. A great lover of life.

Cynthia is in-charge of Finance Management and General Administration. She also leads the organization’s secretariat in Operations and Coordination.
