In a world where education is considered the cornerstone of progress, countless young minds possess immense potential yet lack the means to access higher education. Gifted Hands Youth Empowerment Organization recognizes this gap and has taken a bold stride towards transformation through its impactful initiative, Youth4Biz.
Empowering Youth with entrepreneurial skills
The Youth4Biz program is a beacon of hope for Kenyan youth, with a clear objective of promoting and advancing the social and economic prosperity of Kenyan youths through the study, application, and practice of entrepreneurship. This initiative stands as a testament to the belief that entrepreneurship holds the key to unlocking a brighter future for the nation’s young individuals.
The Recruitment process
The recruitment process had a clear target – identifying and supporting disadvantaged youth who have completed their secondary education but find themselves unable to pursue further studies at colleges or universities due to financial constraints. These bright minds are eager to learn, grow, and contribute, yet they lack the resources to access formal education or skills training. COHORT-1 recruitment targeted the areas of Uthiru, Kangemi, Kawangware, and Dagoreti and their environs.
Youth4Biz Ambassadors
The recruitment journey embarked with comprehensive training of Program Ambassadors from the COHORT-1 targeted areas. Selected from community mobilizers, volunteers, and opinion leaders hailing from Uthiru Shopping Center, Uthiru Gichagi, Uthiru Copa, Ruthimitu, Mutuini, Gathondeki, Waithaka, and Kawangware, these Ambassadors became the torchbearers of change. Their role was pivotal in spreading the word about the Youth4Biz program, identifying the needy, and igniting enthusiasm within their communities. The engagement with the ambassadors enhanced the recruitment’s inclusivity and transparency approach.
Applications
To give deserving youth an opportunity, application forms were distributed through the Youth4Biz ambassadors and the local administration offices. The response was overwhelming, with 85 applications pouring in. Each of these applications encapsulated the dreams, aspirations, and untapped potential of these young individuals yearning for a chance to shine.
The Interviews
Subsequently, interviews were conducted, wherein 75 applicants showcased their determination, resilience, and dreams. These interviews provided a deeper understanding of the aspirations and potential that each applicant carried within. Finally, after a thorough assessment, 30 promising applicants were selected – each an embodiment of potential waiting to be unleashed.

By providing selected youth with education, mentorship, and practical skills, the initiative not only equips them for success but also nurtures a culture of innovation, resilience, and self-belief.
